What a Weekend!

We had a busier weekend than expected...

Zach spent some time reading my old dictionary.  He wanted to know how many words began with the letter Z and that got him into flipping through my antique book.
After Zach's game on Saturday where he scored a few goals (yup, he really did!), we suffered through the USC v. Stanford game.  The good thing is that Alexa and Joshua had a nice time bonding on the couch.
Our neighbor was nice enough to point out that Zach is a celebrity.  He was featured in our local Outlook newspaper...
This is the world's saddest local paper... most of the content are pictures of the kids in the community and crime reports on mail getting stolen.  But hey, it was Zach's debut so I'm excited.

We also decided to drive down to the SD Zoo on Sunday which we haven't been to in forever.  We did a quick day trip and had a great family fun day.  Zach is obsessed with stuffed animals and couldn't get enough of the wall of friends:
He's such a good kid.  Before we went in he says, "Mom, we can look but not buy, right?"  God, I love him!  I also love that he's just like his Dad.  There was actually a point when Zach and Chris were fighting over the Zoo Map.
If you know Chris, he LOVES maps.  It might explain the 7'x8' world map we have in our office.  By the end of the day, both the boys were obsessively staring at the map and tracking our every movement.  It was pretty cute.  Although, when we were in Paris, there were a few times where I almost ripped the maps from Chris' hands.  Here he is waiting for me to get ready... it's like he's studying for a test or something.  He has three maps and two tour books out.
