Backyard - Phase I

For the last 3 weeks we've had workers in the upper part of our backyard working on turning it into an oasis.  It's going from a gopher's paradise to our own sanctuary.  I forgot to take a picture before but we had a HUGE oleander bush in the far part of this yard.  Also, you can see all the dirt where a metropolis of gophers existed.
Most of the work was done in the ground where you can't see it.  They spent a lot of time putting in a drip watering system and gopher baskets to prevent the little rodents from eating all of our plants.
They did a beautiful job of designing and laying out the yard to create a peaceful, meandering backyard.  Many of the plants are small at this stage but they will eventually grow out to become more lush.
Unfortunately, our peace was quickly destroyed when we went to admire the yard to find...
yup, you guessed it... more GOPHER HOLES!!  It's impossible to line the ENTIRE yard with this netting because it would cost an arm and a leg.  You would think all of the activity would have scared them away but nope, they just waited to ruin our path.  So, for all of you gun toting readers... it's gopher season!
