Last week we enrolled Zach in the YMCA day camp by our house. It was just for a week so that he could experience something new and possibly meet some new kids that might be going to his elementary school. He enjoyed it so much that he wanted to go for the rest of the summer but unfortunately, they were all booked up.
I learned two things from this experience:
1) You need to sign your kids up at least 6 months ahead of time for ANY kids activity you want to do in this town. (Apparently, they are starting sign-ups for Winter camp soon!) and;
2) Zach has a way with older woman. It's his sensitive, mature persona that seems to hypnotize all of his teachers. The counselor this week looked like she was going to cry when she found out he was only going for one week. Instead of Zach meeting more kids his age, he bonded with a 20 year-old camp counselor. Go figure!
Here's Zachy on his way to woo his counselor.
