Memorial Day

Aside from the fact that it was 37 degrees when we drove up on Friday night, it was a beautiful weekend.  Since it was a little cold on Saturday morning, we did what most people do to honor our Veterans - we went bowling!  It was a first for the kids and they had a pretty good time using a ramp to push the ball down the alley.

It was tied after the first round...
On our way back, we took the boys to Happy Face Malt Shop for their first time.  Nothing more American than burgers and shakes... and boy, were those shakes unbelievable.
The sun did come out and we spent the rest of the weekend outside basking in the sun and driving the boat.
The men also bonded on the grass... no clue what they were doing but I loved that they were just sitting their talking.
In between all of our activities, Alexa and Zach hung out on the couch together soaking in some television.

It was a great kick-off to the summer and we're looking forward to more weekends up here...
